Understanding Your Golf Swing Speed

Usually when you step up to the tee for the first time on a golf course you instinctual reaction is to hit the ball as hard as you can like you would in baseball. That has got to be one of the worst ways to start off learning the game, but unfortunately most of us golfers started out the hard way and try to go for distance instead of accuracy in the beginning.

Well, if you are sick and tired of trying to hit the golf ball 300+ yards and getting absolutely nowhere then you should try some of these simple techniques that can vastly improve your golf game.

Hitting the ball 300+ yards is awesome, don't get me wrong, but if it is in the wrong direction then it is pointless. In order to get your golf swing on target you have to perfect your golf swing with finesse not power. A good way to start this is slow down your swing by focusing on more of what your body is doing instead of what your body is doing.

Your wrists, arms, legs, hips and eyes on the ball all come into play with your perfecting your swing. When it comes to accuracy you must keep your eyes on the ball at all times, never take your eyes off the ball during your swing by doing this you should see considerable improvement in your direction and accuracy. Secondly your arms act like cross hairs in that arms need to be lined up with the ball before your swing. Then you come to distance in which believe it or not your hips have a huge effect in your distance and power.

With the right hip rotation in your swing you could potentially be hitting drives 250-300 yard drives once you have perfected all aspects of your swing. The best tip I can give you though is to watch the pros. When you watch the pros swing on their drives you will see how much these things come into play and therefore be able to implement them in your golf game.
